Because it’s ANZAC Day Down Under…
My grandfather Ted, back row second from the left. Taken at a training camp in Egypt, en route to Gallipoli in 1915 as a reinforcement. He later transferred to the 1st Machine Gun batallion.
I’ve always wondered how many of the boys in this photo survived the war. 
I’m feeling suitably bleak today, although the sun is pouring in. Listening to “And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda” is probably not a good idea when you’re struggling.
