I have a tumblr called Vintage Saree Blouse and its always a bit difficult to find 1920s influences on the blouse (apart from Devika Rani, an actress, I see you have a post on her)-most vintage pictures are blouses influenced by the Victorians/Edwardians. I’ll race off to check out your tumblr :) I’ll have a look and see if I can find more India-specific imges for the 1920s era…I know I’ve seen Indian influenced textiles used in French pieces, and I tend to believe that the colour palette of the period was influenced by that geographic region and culture, possibly via the Ballets Russes.
